okay, on thursday night at swim practice, we were working on our kicks and we were using flippers. all of the sudden, i had this paralyzing pain(possibly a severe cramp) in my leg. it was very difficult to get out of the pool. it was very difficult to walk because with every step there was a very sharp pain running up from my mid calf up just before the back of my knee. i stretched it out, and the pain subsided enough i continued on with my swim practice. when i came home, i took ibrprphen, wraped it in a heat wrap for about 45min - 1 hour, waited 20 minutes, and iced it for about 20 minutes, and then went to bed(it was like 10ish). the next day, i went to school, and i had to limp everywhere and even still, i would accasionally get that sharp pain again. today, it is even worse than yesterday. ive tried not to walk on it as much as possible today. i am scared. im only 14. will this effect my swimming career? what should i do. my calf is very tender, yet the muscle seems hard. could i possibly ripped a muscle? or is it just strained? and what should i do?!
thank you SO much!!!! :)
